What is Reflections? It is a PTA-sponsored art program that encourages students to create works of art, centered on an annual theme.
What is this year’s theme? I Can Make A Difference By...
Who can enter? ANY Longfellow student
What are the categories? Music, Photography, Visual Arts, Literature, Video Production and Dance Choreography. Video and Dance are new categories for Illinois this year!
What are the rules? Click on the Short Rules link to see a brief description of all the categories and helpful hints. Click on the individual links to read the full rules of each category. Make sure to read the rules BEFORE YOU START!
Is this a contest? Not technically. Although pieces are independently judged and outstanding efforts may advance to different levels, the PTA considers this an art program, not a contest.
Can I see examples? Yes! Go to http://pta.browsermedia.com to see and hear last year’s National Finalists, including one from Longfellow!
I need help with recording! Call Mr. or Mrs. Rea. They love to help kids with Reflections!
What do I get? The personal satisfaction in knowing that you are an accomplished artist — Oh yeah, and an invitation to the Reflections’ Pizza Party.
